Before I start, I think it is very important for me to say this: This site is not here to replace any professional services that are in need. I am a huge fan of psychotherapy and counseling and believe in it wholeheartedly. Therefore, please never confuse my experience as anything that should ever contradict something discussed with a therapist or Counselor, it is strictly my experience. And for the record I have a therapist of my own.
Websters Defines Hope as: to cherish a desire with anticipation:: to want something to happen or be true
That said, I created this site to share my experience when it comes to life and pursuing some of life's most valuable things. There are a lot of lessons that I have learned, most of them in the hardest of ways! That is precisely why I wish to pass on a few things I have learned and as stated on the Home Page, I will have guests on my podcasts that will share their experiences, as well.
If my experience has shown me anything it is that Hope is needed in almost all areas of my life. I have hope in both good times and bad, although I usually feel it is most helpful during the bad, I find that is equally as important in the good. Hope is usually the thing that allows me to get out of bed in the morning and have the ability to press forward into a world that can be a very scary place.
So, what happens when life throws a real curve ball, and it hits hard? In those moments, and don't kid yourself they will come, I have basically two options:
1. Succumb to the pain and dismiss whatever hope I have and continue down the same path making sure that everyone knows how horribly the world is treating me, OR.
2. Use what hope I have to come up higher.
Hope is useful, no matter how small an amount, in finding ways to seek help, to read and learn more about myself, to find the places I fail and try to rectify those shortcomings. There are numerous ways to use Hope. I find the more of hope I use, the busier I stay, the more genuine my desire to come up higher is, the better I feel.
In the following pages I will discuss a few seminal topics, as I see them, in looking for and finding hope.
